rumor out of "assistantville" at the Fox net is that the "Drive" is over....6 eps and out....lousy numbers (3.7/6) for the premiere and costs (apparantly this is a hugely expensive show) cited as reasons....IS THIS TRUE??????

Hoping that Drive stays on! Talked with ppl this past week, and a few just weren't aware it was on yet - they were going to tune in last night.

that was truly some effin' ess, man. i've been in love with this series since before it started, but last night?... that couldn't have been more awesome. the camera use, the characters, the story... i never knew i loved car chases so much! ...and way to kill off some characters, too! that's our tim... ...just as i was really starting to root for susan you kill her. that episode had me vying for her and leigh. i'm sort of hoping that leigh will join violet's car. i really started to like her character this episode and don't want her going anywhere. it'll be sadly convenient if violet's dad dies. thanks again for another great spat of tv watching. i guarantee you that i'll watch all 13 episodes of every show you do! i'm hoping this one stays on the road. i can't take another loss right now. ...especially with such a great show.

Episode 4 was great Tim! I like AWOL husband, but please kill his wife next. Loved the 'plan the bankjob over lattes' scene.

Monster Truck of Death was pretty scary - poor Susan. (RIP). And good luck Leigh!

Although Fox's running the first 3 episodes in 2 days sounded like a good idea, it maybe backfired? If people missed those, they aren't even aware of the show and think they can't catch up now? On the good news side - I got 5 co-workers to watch Episode 4 last night. They all got hooked even though they had no clue of the backstory, and are going to catch up online this week. Please Fox, re-run some episodes on FX (like they did for Prison Break) or Friday nights on Fox.

I can't help but be worried about this show. After the end of the third episode, I was hooked... Nathan Fillion is awesome and the other characters are growing on me... but Fox is only showing six eps of the show before dumping the rest in the TV wasteland of the summer.

With the news of poor ratings I can't help but fear this show will be canceled before it really gets a chance to show what it can do.

The Timinator strikes again! Great episode - gritty, harsh, dramatic - and someone dies! YAY!

Every moment I see of this series, I like it more. Can we just have one more death though - Rob's wife? Please?

Drive is definately the best show on television right now. Ep 4 (while not quite as good as Ep 3) was great.

I love everything Tim Minear has ever written, and this show, despite my early misgivings about the premise, was no exception.

This week's episode ROCKED. I loved the focus on my four favorite characters (plus Wendy) and the end was superb.

It's official now, though. The show's done. Fox put up a notice on the official show page that the last two episodes will be aired sometime this summer. I'd say what I think of the bleeping bleeps, but this is a public forum.

I don't believe this.

Another show that i get hooked on gets cancelled by fox!!!!

Tim, I understand that a producer's gotta eat, but why do you keep going back to the idiots at that network?

As one poster on the fox boards put it, this whole "create a show, watch it cancelled and then create another one to have the same thing happen again" seems a bit like battered wife syndrome.

So far, I'm definitely going along for the ride! It is great to see Nathan Fillion back on my screen in Drive and I'm loving the twists and turns. I hope that if Fox is going to throw this show into the summertime blues they at least give them a prime time slot! Drive rocks!

Why does FOX do this to us? I was so excited to have another show that I was totally hooked by. With Heroes also on Monday night it was my new favorite night of television. I really hope Drive manages to stay on the air. I think it is a great show and has the potential for so much character building that I think it could be a fantastic show.

I can't believe Fox is cancellng this show. My 12 yr. old daughter and I are hooked!!! BRING IT BACK!!

I am seriously about to be done with FOX. They cancel the good ones and keep the crap on the air. Are all their execs on crack? I just don't get it.

I could care less about American Idol, but I liked Drive. This network is getting on my last nerve.

I couldn't believe it when I went to make sure the TiVo was going to tape tonight's episode to find it wasn't on schedule. I looked it up online only to find out that it's been cancelled!

Come on Fox, you only gave it ten days! It's an amazing show, that's had a gathering since before the first episode! If nothing else, that says something about the fans dedication to the show.

Bring back Drive!

Timmah --

If you insist on staying with Fox, would you at least persuade them to run your stuff on FX...They are still making new eps of Rescue Me over there for fuqs sake...FX can run a show for a long enough for the show to build its following.

...and Tom Shales can buh-low me.
