Posted on February 25, 2006 | Comments (3)

Tim talks about his adaptation of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, the realities of wortking in television and dishes a bit about his new pilot, DRIVE. You can listen to the podcast here. (Tim's portion of the program starts about 21 minutes in.) Thanks to Adam for the heads up!

I've long wondered whether this Heinlein classic would ever be adapted. It's a tight story with several compelling elements (AI, Moon Catapult, US Revolution allegory) ripe for adaptation. With Tim adapting, I am very confident there is every reason to expect both a critical and commercial success.

Then, I'd suggest Tim consider whether it might be feasible to adapt another early Heinlein classic, The Door into Summer. It's also a tight storyline. Some of protagonists inventions may be a bit dated (Drafting Dan vs. modern PC CAD software), but this is one of my favorite time travel stories.
