Reminder: Minear-Penned Episode Tonight

Posted on March 19, 2004 | Comments (2)

That's right! Tonight's brand-new episode of WONDERFALLS was written by our very own Mr. Minear. The episode is entitled "Karma Chameleon" (don't blame me for the earworm) and features a little surprise for all you Tim fans.

Being a UK TV viewer, I know nothing about US networks and sweeps and syndication and stuff.

It will take what seems like forever to get a show such as Wonderfalls in the UK so I downloaded the first episode. I don't know if this is cast as robbery like mp3's or not, but I wanted to see what this show was like.

The preimse sounded a little off, and the show didn't sound as though it would be the kind of thing tha would have me tuning in week after week.

It doesn't happen very often but I was very happy to be proven wrong. I really shouldn't have doubted something from the pen of Tim Minear, the man responsible for THE best Angel episodes ever.

I look forward to seeing the second episode, and I get terrified at the thought of having such a series cancelled after losing so many of my favourite shows over the past twelve months: Jake 2.0, Haunted, John Doe, Oddesey 5, maybe Tru Calling and - most importantly, Angel.

Everything about Wonderfalls just works so well. Both the cast and the writing are excellent, and I cannot wait to see how this show progresses during it's first season.

Please be safe in the knowledge that if US networks don't appreciate the hard work and long hours people like Minear put into a show like this, then there are people all over the world that do.

I'll start saving for my Season One DVD box set now, so Minear - you'd better start practising for those commentaries.

All the very best,

Richard Johnson,
